Midlands based logistics company A E Costin has been shortlisted for a prestigious Motor Transport award. Key3 worked with Costin to turnround their logistics operation and reduce their carbon footprint. A number of initiatives were undertaken, including improving the operating model, reducing fuel consumption and controlling driver activity. Using the TEST process (Key3’s Transport Efficiency Savings Toolkit), a detailed action plan was developed to enable further benefits to be achieved. By introducing Six Sigma into the company, the benefits that have been delivered are sustainable for the long term future of the business. Being nominated in the Low Carbon and Efficiency category is a major accolade for a small company, who are competing in this category against major operators such as Tesco and TNT. |
